Space your meals but don’t skip them, I didn’t even know some of the things I did were bad eating habits, and they landed me into fat-trouble, today, we are about to learn some food etiquette; shall we?
The bad habits that gave me excess fat
Skipping meals often leads to bad choices later on. This is because contrary to our aim, skipping meals often lead to overeating. Let’s say you skip breakfast, and then only eat a small lunch. By dinner, you’re likely to be starving, causing you to make unhealthy choices, like eating more portions than you normally would. If you overeat at night, you probably won’t be hungry for breakfast the next morning, and so the meal-skipping cycle begins again.
This is how some people keep gaining weight and can’t seem to explain why. Space your meals alright, but don’t skip them if you can avoid it.
To avoid this, plan your meals in advance. Fruits, smoothies, boiled eggs, vegetable salads are nutritious meal replacements that don’t require too much time to prepare but will do your body a lot of good and finally aju mbaise flat tummy tea to keep that belly flat.
- Eating at your desk
A study by Herbalife found that 29% of professionals usually have their lunch breaks at their desk up to five times a week. I know, most of us are guilty and I am doing this as I type this article. The thing is, when you have lunch at your desk, you probably wouldn’t be moving around much and sitting for prolonged periods of time is neither good for your blood circulation nor your eyes.
- Also, working while eating might also cause you to eat more than you should because you wouldn’t notice when you’re full. If you have to have a quick lunch at your desk, try to squeeze in a short walk around your office building to sneak in some exercise.
You can walk around the office anytime you are on the phone or take the stairs to burn off calories you gained at your desk.
- Not Drinking enough water. As simple as drinking water sounds, drinking a certain amount of water every single day can be very difficult. One disadvantage of not drinking enough water is fatigue, tiredness and dry flaky skin. When dehydrated, you may start to develop a headache and have the urge to take a nap. Digestion problems may also occur if you do not consume enough water daily. Dull, flaky skin needs a lot of water internally and externally to brighten it up. Depending on your weight, the average adult needs about 2.7 liters of water per day to avoid all the issues listed and more. To achieve this, know that a big bottle of water is about 1.5litres, use this to monitor your daily intake and you will be doing your skin and digestive system a lot of good.
- Eating late night meals . With your work schedule and bad traffic especially if you are in Lagos, nighttime eating can be difficult to avoid. A meal becomes late when you eat it less than 3 hours before your bedtime. In some cases, according to Family Practice News it can even become a disorder, such as night-eating syndrome, a condition that is particularly prevalent in people who are obese or morbidly obese. The longer you stay awake, the more prone you are to eating large meals before bed, which can lead to unpleasant side effects. So as much as you can, try to avoid having late night meals (This can be hard to achieve, especially if you stay in a busy city like Lagos or Kaduna. But it never hurts to try, does it?
If like us you are guilty of more than one of these habits, what are you going to do about it? Are there other habits we missed out, I know there should be more than 5 sins we commit on daily basis….but the good news here is you can curb your appetite by a cup of aju mbaise tea daily which is equivalent to 30 minutes workout and see as you wave bye bye to belly fat, arm fat and double waist line
