Black soot covers Portharcourt as Navy burns illegal refineries

The dilemma residents of Port Harcourt are going through over the recurrent black soot from illegal refineries is nothing to write home about.

According to multiple online reports, the Nigerian army burnt the boat ( pictured) which contained unconfirmed quantity of diesel seized from illegal refineries along Woji flyover, close to Golf Estate as early as 7a.m in the morning being Thursday April 26, 2018.

Even when residents called the fire service to extinguish the fire, the source revealed that the Navy, who were at the spot prevented the fire service team from calming the fire.

However, the state and the federal government have not come up with any tangible solution to stop the illegal refineries from endangering the lives of people living in those areas from the black soot hazard.

“Say No To black soot in river state …. We don’t need to protest before the Government will do something about it… Just because it’s not affecting them doesn’t mean it’s not affecting us .

Just because I’m not a politician’s daughter doesn’t mean that my voice should not be heard…. Stop the soot ….

Since I’ve been in this hospital… They have been 3 cases all of them black soot …cough, Carter, soar throat… People don’t have to die before we voice out

The government should do the needful.
